Genuine, natural southwest Florida pine Flatwoods and cypress stands. Very pristine. Deer sightings are plentiful.
This review is about the foot prints hiking trails, ,this is a great trail if you like primitive hiking trails, secluded and you are usually the only one there, consider taking a GPS or compass as there is a possibility of getting lost here.
An experience for those wanting to see what Florida's ecology is all about in this area now managed by the Florida Forestry Service. A 90 minute ecotour by a windowless bus of the area ($24) will allow close viewing of the wildlife and fauna of southwest Florida in this ranching and timber operation area. A several mile long public hiking trail here (free) winds through Florida pine land forest. There is also another longer free public hiking trail called Footprints, a few miles north of here on Bermont Road and about a halfmile east of highway 31. Best times for hiking are the dry winter and spring seasons as summers will find trails flooded.
Interesting eco-tour, saw plenty of wildlife including alligators. Great driver/tour guide.
Just went to eat some eastern NC BBQ and it was great. Been on reo tours there in the past and it is also very good
