I was stranded by Allegiant Air when they cancelled my flight out of Punta Gorda Airport that would have left Florida well before Hurricane Irma. Fortunately, I was able to evacuate with the car I was renting and drive it all the way back to RFD to get my van and get to Wisconsin. It was a long nerve wracking trip but at least I got home. I can't thank Hertz enough for letting me relocate the car and not take advantage of me financially.
Once again credit scores of 620 or above to rent a car regardless of you paying extra for insurance or not they were very fast at taking money over the net but refusing my credit score at the desk after driving there after I made the reservation online complete waste of time with this place
My wife left her phone in a van we rented from them (which was filthy, by the way) and an employee called us and let us know. Which was awesome of her. Then the ineptitude started. I was told to email a label to them and they would Fed Ex it to me. No problem. I immediately do it. I notice the next day the phone had never been dropped at FedEx. After countless calls ( they keep their phones set to forward to the reservation line) and texts I was finally told I was given the wrong email address. So I send a label to the correct one. The next day I notice the phone still hasn't gone to FedEx. Again the routine of ignored texts and not being able to get through to them at the agency I am told the manager was off that day and no one could access his email. So I try it again the next day and and the employee I finally got through to told me I didn't include enough money on the label to send it. No one had the common courtesy to let me know of these issues. So now I am desperate. It's Thursday and my wife needs the phone. I pony up the $44 for priority overnight. The employee texts me and tells me the phone shipped. I get the notification that it was delivered and go home to find they shipped me the wrong phone! I call the owner of the phone that was shipped to me and discover he is going through the exact same ordeal. Again texts/calls/emails are ignored. I finally get through to the agency and the girl working the desk says she is aware of the situation but "unfortunately can not discuss it because there is not a manager here tonight". I keno it's our fault we forgot the phone but these guys have been total clowns since this happened and are the some of the worst employees I have ever dealt with. I just want to know where they shipped my phone to so I can hopefully get it back but they just want to ignore me and hope I go away
Man behind counter extremely rude. Reserved on Priceline and paid partial amount, had receipt. Since I didn't bring card I paid with he said he was going to charge me walk up rate and I'd need to get refund from Priceline. Priceline doesn't refund. I gave him another card because other one was closed. Never had a problem at Alamo using another card. He ran it through, all was fine. Then he asked what insurance I had and said "you bringing it back full or whatever". Total jerk. Long story short, Hertz has charged me $300 over the $77 balance I needed to pay. Filed complaint with Hertz and disputing charge. The fee is for damage (take pics of any damage, I did), smoke smell(which it already smelled) and drop off time. Priceline contract states drop off time is correct. Keep all receipts and document damage at time of pick up. All will work out for me because of this. Stay away from Hertz at Punta Gorda airport.
Rental was clean and in perfect working order. No problems at all.
